Technical School Website & Content Redesign
Universal Technical Institute (UTI) is an automotive trade school headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona that specializes in auto, commercial diesel, motorcycle, marine, and NASCAR professional training and certification. Its website was completely redesigned and content overhauled as part of a larger project to refresh the overall brand of the school.
Role: Copywriter & Researcher
Goals & Challenges
1. Learn everything a prospective student would need to know about UTI.
2. Work with the heads of each school to gain proficiency in UTI courses, benefits, and other important details of each program.
3. Take that knowledge back to the creative team to build a fun, engaging website that is both exciting and informative to prospective students.
4. Complete the project in less than four months.
Results & Takeaways
As someone new to the automotive industry, I was starting from scratch. I worked with professionals at each UTI program and asked a lot of questions to gain an understanding of what mechanics learn, how the industry works, and what UTI can offer.
The redesign was a collaborative effort between executives, writers, designers, and instructors. Its launch helped yield enrollment numbers the school hadn't seen in more than three years.
